Shortly after beginning college my parents decided to separate and sell the family home. Never before had I understood so deeply what it was like to lose something I so often took advantage of. This series was a way for me to cope with one aspect of loss that I had been facing at the time. I was documenting what was left of my house as it was at the very end of its life. Focusing on the material loss that was the house I grew up in was somewhat of an avoidance of the real issue of the inevitable divorce of my parents. Several months later it was torn down to make way for a mansion to be put in its place.
